Food for Pantries
Once a month, we fill the shelves of the OCIM food pantry with non-perishable food items from our network of PORCH neighborhoods and businesses that participate in our monthly food drives. For more information about how our monthly food drives work, please click here.
Food for Schools

John McGovern and Nancy Grebenkemper making a Food for Schools delivery!
The Food for Schools program provides healthy snacks to students who are hungry during the school day or need supplemental food sent home over weekends and holidays. We provide food to all 13 public schools in the Orange County School system. Fruit cups, granola bars, macaroni and cheese, and other nutritious snacks help kids in need have energy throughout the school day and focus on their work.
This program is funded by local businesses and individuals who donate to our program. A $500 donation provides a year’s worth of healthy snacks for a school, and a $250 donation covers a semester. Smaller donations are also appreciated and are pooled together to sponsor a school.
The Food for Schools program takes the financial burden off of school staff, who often spend their own money to stock a school or classroom food pantry.

Food for Families

A box of fresh produce being distributed to families in need as part of our Food for Families program.
Our newest program, Food for Families, launched in 2018. This program is in partnership with Weaver Street Market and provides healthy, fresh produce to families identified by school social workers as being at risk of hunger. Food for Families provides fresh foods (e.g. potatoes, green beans, apples, broccoli, zucchini, sweet potatoes, onions, peppers, and more) not provided by any other hunger relief organization. This program occurs on a monthly basis.
